Tiger Nuts
are brilliant carp baits when used on their own or in
conjunction with other particles particularly hemp
seed. The coconut taste appeals to carp and
the naturally high sugar levels are extremely
attractive to fish. Take your pick from our
great value Standard Tiger Nuts as loose feed
or Premium Tigers
Nuts for a larger,
round, more consistent size nut perfect for use as a
hookbait.
Preparation
Details
Tiger Nuts need to be prepared before you use
them. First of all put your Tiger Nuts into a
container and then cover them with water for 24
hours. At this stage add some Betalin
or Solar
Liquid Candy Sweetener approx 2ml per dry kilo of
Tiger Nuts will work best.
Once they have soaked for 24 hours, you need to cook
them. Using the water you have soaked them in
put them into a pan or Burco if you have one and
bring to the boil for 30 mins. You will notice
that the nuts have got much bigger and are now
crunchy to touch. The cooking water will have
thickened up and become syrupy. (Don’t throw
this away as the natural juices are irresistible to
carp)
If you can put the Tiger Nuts and Liquid back into an
airtight bucket and leave for 48 hours. Now
your Tiger Nuts are ready to go, you have the
ultimate particle bait to go out and catch those
fish.
Freezing- you can freeze your Tiger Nuts once they
have been cooked and have cooled down. We
recommend that you use them within a month for the
optimum bait. Just defrost it when you want to
use it.
