Canal Pairs Final - Damian Green

This weekend I fished two matches the first was on Saturday on the canal pairs final which was split between Staffs & Worcester and Trent & Mersey canals my draw put me on Staffs & Worcester canal peg 30 which was on end of some stick ups. I decided to fish a couple of big fish lines towards the stick ups with worm and caster and a short and long ground bait line fishing for everything that swims. Throughout the day I caught two decent perch towards the stick ups and some small roach and perch on squatt and pinkie over Hinders Supercharged Natural Black Groundbait to which I weighed 1.750 kilo for good points in my section. My partner Paul Cowan had a good day coming 6th in his section and we scored 32 points for 12th overall out of 55 pairs.

Sunday I fished the second round of East Midlands winter league split between March and Creek Cottage and my draw put me on J1 at March. I had two groundbait lines at 6 metres and 11 metres plus a chop worm line to my right going down the peg. Throughout the day it was a real struggle to put bites together on my groundbait lines and the only way I could catch was on the chop worm and caster catching perch. I weighed 10 lb to for 6th in my section. Matrix Team Image managed 2nd on the day with a great team performance on 29 points and we are in 3rd place overall.
