Hemp
is the number one particle bait for carp fishing.
Hemp has a highly attractive oily sweet taste
making it irresistible to carp. Even small
amounts of Hemp will keep carp feeding for hours
particularly in silty areas. It is a great
attractor due to its high oil content and due to
its crunchy taste which carp find
irresistible.
Hemp and be used with great success when used in
combination with Tiger
Nuts and Maize.
It can be either put in a PVA Bag
or a Spod for
fishing at range or catapulted small distances into
the margins. If you are using a PVA Bag
don’t dry the hemp out (dry hemp tends to
float) add some groundbait
or crushed hemp as this will absorb some of the
moisture and stop the bag from melting before you
want.
Top Tips
1.
Add 30ml of Hemp
Oil per kg of Hemp which creates an oil slick
that will work for hours. This is ideal for
pressurised waters with high competition for
catches.
2.
Spicy/Hot Hemp with bloodworm really gets them
going! Add 30ml of Red Hot
Robin Concentrate per kg cooked Hemp.
This method is best fished with Bloodworm
Boilies
3.
Pour the water from your prepared hemp into a
bucket and add readymade
boilies, keep moving the bucket on a regular
basis as this will allow the boilies to soak up the
liquid. Leave for 24 hours and then the
boilies are ready to go with that added
boost.
4.
Take 5kg of dry hemp and add 250ml of either Nodd
Oil/Salmon
Oil. Coat all seeds and leave for 24 hours. The
Hemp will then absorb all the oil and can be cooked
in the normal way. This produces a huge oil slick
that attracts carp

Add 3ml of Betalin
per dry kg at the soaking stage to give your hemp
that extra boost.
Hemp Preparation
Hemp
needs to be prepared before you use it.
Follow these instructions and your hemp will be
safe to use.
Cover
your hemp in warm water and soak for 24
hours. You can add betalin,
hemp
oil or salt at this stage. Transfer to a
pan and bring to the boil. Simmer for five
minutes and then transfer into an airtight
bucket. Store the bucket in a warm place
until the seeds start to ‘pop’.
You can then either use the hemp or put it into the
freezer and store for up to 12 months.
